Push Pull Workouts
If you are new to weight training, it’s okay to train each muscle group during every workout with just a few sets and exercises per muscle. However, as you get strength and size gains you will likely find find that you would like to try to do more sets and exercises for each muscle group without over training. When you reach this point, it’s time to split your weight training routine. One of the best ways to do this is to follow a push pull routine. Push pull workouts will have you training muscles that work together on many major lifts during the same workout. One workout will be for the chest, shoulder, and triceps muscles. The second workout will have you training the upper back and biceps. The last workout of this routine will be leg day.
