Minor in Possession Classes Required for Teens Caught Drinking
Guess what happens in Lakota East if you’re a teenager and you are caught drinking? You’re going to have to attend minor in possession classes. This just happened to four teens who were caught drunk at a high school football game.
Who got in even more trouble was the 40 year old mother Penny G. who faced 180 days in jail and a $750 fine. She plead to a lesser crime of contributing to the delinquency of a child and instead only has to be on probation for 4 years.
But Penny is a mother too and she has teenage children. She should have know better the allowing minors to possess alcohol is a no-no and that she could easily have gotten into trouble. Even worse the teens could have been hurt or even died from drinking.
Local School Resource Officer Deputy Doug Hale said that underage drinking appears to be a growing problem. He’s glad for the conviction which he hopes will send a message to adults and parents that they will be held liable if they contribute to underage drinking.
Hey - so nice of you to stop by! I hope you leave a comment.
