I thought I was being smart by not having mechanical breakdown insurance on my car. But as time went on I saw that it was not a smart decision at all. This is because with no insurance, I had to pay for all my repairs and rental cars out of pocket. Also I was the victim of a hit and run. I had to cover all of the damages then. I knew that if I would have had insurance this wouldn’t have cost me a dime. However, I didn’t see that these things would happen to me. I had always planned to get insurance eventually. But in my case, eventually did not come soon enough.

To all of those who think that auto insurance is something that should be put off on getting, you are wrong. This is because every time you get into your car to go somewhere, you are at risk of getting into an accident. Sometime, if you don’t park your car in your garage, you are at risk of being the victim of a hit and run.

What if your car just breaks down because of everyday wear and tear? You are going to have to come out of your pocket to cover all the expenses needed to cover it. For example, you would be responsible for paying for your rental car, paying for the labor, and paying for the parts. But with owning auto insurance, the company would be the one covering this.

Even having cheap auto insurance saves people a lot of money every day. This is because we never know when something is going to happen to our cars. In the long run, we will spend way more money if we have an accident rather than if we never had an accident while we had car insurance. It seems to me it’s better to have this and not use it, then to not have it and need it. I only wish that I would have gotten it when I first purchased my car. It would have saved me a lot of money.

At least I learned one good thing from my incident. Auto insurance is something that is essential when being a car owner. It is as important as needing to put gas in your car for it to run. Without it, you might as well flush all your money down the toilet because when you least expect it you will be in a situation where auto insurance could of helped out.
